I've always been a fitness enthusiast. I was a regular at the gym starting in my teens and took an interest in wanting to live a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy running and wanted to get stronger and faster so I joined My Personal Trainer in 2007. The program helped me achieve a 14% body fat* while putting on 18 lbs* of fat burning lean muscle. As a trainer with MPT, I focus on motivating my clients to do their best, feel great about their accomplishments and grow in their personal fitness journey.
I played tennis and did kickboxing but I wasn't able to lose the weight I gained in my twenties. My mother was a client and I saw her achieve her goals with amazing results. So I joined My Personal Trainer at 24. I'd never done strength training before and 20 minutes twice a week fit my school and work schedule. I lost 20 lbs* in 5 weeks! I believe in My Personal Trainer so much that I started working for them in 2011. It's amazing to see clients reach their personal weight goals and get stronger and healthier.
I was introduced to strength training in middle school through sports and decided to stick with it as a personal hobby not realizing that Id make a career of it in the future. After working in the corporate world for many years and realizing it wasn't for me, I decided to do a 360 with my career and become a personal trainer with MY PERSONAL TRAINER Inc. Over the past 10 years I've personally helped more than 1000 men and women achieve their fitness goals. I highly regard my profession, for the positive impact it has on our client's lives. Doctors treat those that have health problems, priests help with ones soul, and MY PERSONAL TRAINER improves or cures people's health problems. Currently I own and operate 3 successful locations and looking to further expand our healthy imprint on the Northeast Ohio area.
I graduated from college with Bachelors in Web Design as well as an Associate's Degree in Marketing. At 25 my life drastically changed, my mother had a severe stroke at 60 years old leaving her paralyzed. I quit my job to become her full time caretaker and rehabilitation coach. She passed away a few months after and it was then that I decided to make my own health a priority. I Lost 46lbs myself and in doing so I realized my passion was people and I wanted to be able to help others reach their goals. That's when I discovered My Personal Trainer. I believe through the use of motivation, dedication, and proper progressive strength training, every individual has the ability to achieve their ideal physique. In my 5 years with the company I've been able to be a part of so many success stories my clients have become my second family!
My love for the fitness and wellness industry began as my own personal journey in my late teens. I was struggling as an overweight adolescent and decided to do something about it. After losing 50 lbs* in 2002, I dedicated my life to help others do the same. It is my mission to help people lose pounds of undesirable fat while reclaiming self-esteem. I can't explain how fulfilling it is to see individuals apply themselves to reach obtainable goals and improve all facets of their lives. It will be a privilege to help you write your success story.
During high school I was introduced to personal training by working in the rehab center that was part of a major hospital group. I loved the interaction with the members and helping people achieve their goals. Since graduating I went through so many places trying to find that exact same environment with no luck. Five years ago I joined the My Personal Trainer team and there is no job so rewarding. Having clients past and present sharing their success stories to their friends and family is a great feeling and continuing the tradition to new members is very important to us.
Fitness has always been a big part of my life growing up. I've played competitive soccer since the age of 4 and played collegiately at Baldwin Wallace University. After the end of my competitive career, finding the motivation to continue to stay fit was a challenge. At BW I received a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and minor in Sports Coaching. As a soccer coach, it has taught me how to give back and to push people/players to be their very best. Becoming a Personal Trainer has helped me continue my active lifestyle while teaching and learning from other trainers while building my experience as a new trainer. The possibilities are endless. Nothing is more rewarding than helping clients at MPT reach their fitness goals and achievements.
I was first introduced to strength training and exercise though playing football in high school. Since then I have always had a passion for health and fitness and learned the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. As a result, I have worked with many different populations such as youth sports and adaptive fitness. I am currently in the process of finishing my master's degree in Exercise Science at Cleveland State University. Working at My Personal Trainer gives me the opportunity to use my education to teach, motivate, and improve the quality of life of each client on their journey to living a healthier lifestyle. The best part of working at MPT is the cohesiveness between the trainers and the relationships amongst each client. There is nothing that compares to the joy of setting a goals and achieving them. I enjoy helping others reach obtainable goals and improve their quality of life.
Working in relentless and high-powered sales positions for over 25 years, combined with equal years of poor nutrition, lack of consistent physical activity, stress and sleeping issues had taken its toll on my body and my well-being in ways that required my immediate attention. After tiring of repeated doctor visits, specialists, bad advice and various medications that only left me feeling worse, I began my personal journey toward healing my mind, body and spirit all on my own. Years of self-study led the way toward a more formalized education and I eventually left the Corporate world to become a Certified Health Coach. I had come to recognize the healing benefits of proper nutrition, but continued to struggle in the areas of strength and fitness and found myself as a client at My Personal Trainer. Today, I find that the best part about my own journey is that it's led me to a place of helping others not by telling people what to eat or how to train - but, by empowering them to embrace the challenge to discover their own best self and to realize their potential for a healthier lifestyle.
Fitness has played a big role in my life between my family. Back in 2014 my parents both became a client at My Personal Trainer. Whenever they went to go work out I was always there with them keeping them on their feet and motivating them. When I first went and heard about it I thought that 20 minutes twice a week was nothing, but they started to go and the results came quicker than I thought, they both lost about 20 pounds within 6 weeks. They put in a lot of motivation and dedication into this to make a change in their life style, and till this day they are still working hard and keeping up with it. Seeing my parent's results made me want to help with other people to get where they want to be. Back in March of 2017 I started to work at My Personal Trainer and become a trainer to change other people's life styles and to help reach their goal in life. The results that you get from going 20 minutes twice a week is life changing. Seeing people's life styles change is amazing. Ever since then I have been passionate for the fitness industry.
I was a competitive swimmer throughout my childhood. It wasn't until I joined the high school swim team where I was introduced to strength training. I learned a tremendous amount of information on the positive effects of exercise on the human body during those four years of high school. I wanted to know more so when the time came to decide on a career I knew it had to be something related to fitness. After high school, I continued on with my education receiving my Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Adaptive Physical Activity from Slippery Rock University. I have been a personal trainer for a little over two years now and I absolutely love it! Working with clients, pushing them to achieve a better version of themselves, brings me such happiness. I am pleased to be part of a company that solely focuses on helping clients succeed. I have always been a goal oriented person and one thing I love most about My Personal Trainer is the fact that we will never let you lose sight of your fitness goals.
